Fishing are biting...
Last week I took a vacation with the family so I was off the water for a week but the fish were on fire when I finally got back to work. We did real well with Redfish this past week with several fish over the 30" mark. Most of the Redfish have been along the mangroves on the higher water and when the water starts to drop they have been feeding well near outlet creeks and near pinch points. The Snook bite has been the most consistent since the beginning of spring and its good to see the Snook making a tremendous rebound after the hit they took in 2010/ 2011 winter freezes. The Trout have been moving around a lot and normally when I find them in good numbers its only been a couple days before they move on. This past weekend the 33th Annual Crosthwait fishing tournament took place. This tournament is the largest amateur fishing tournament on the west coast of Florida. Like always, some monster inshore and offshore fish were weighed in.
