A little late...
I'm a little late on this weeks report. I've been busy, busy, busy running several doubles trips. Bait is still everywhere you can imaging from the northern end of Anna Maria Island, Longboat Pass, and the lower part of Tampa Bay near the Skyway Bridge. The King Mackerel have finally showed up and can be found anywhere from 1 to 3 miles off the beach from Anna Maria Island to South of Longboat Key. Look for birds diving on bait schools and you'll find the King Mackerel and Mackerel. The Snook and Redfish bite has been pretty steady, most of the fish have been found on the shallow grass flats near Palma Sola Bay and the near the mouth of the Manatee River. Stone Crab season is open and most of the guys I know that are pulling traps are reporting good numbers. Most of the guys pulled around 200-300 lbs on their first pull of the season.
